Bengaluru: Leading edtech company Byju’s is not leaving Kerala, instead the company wants to make the presence stronger. Of the 3,000 plus current employees working in multiple Byju’s establishments in the state, only 140 have been transferred to the Bengaluru establishment. The company sources said that the here says regarding layoffs and other romours for the past few days are misleading and the reality is just the opposite.
In the coming financial year, the company aims to open 3 more establishments in Kerala. With this, the number of Byju’s establishments in Kerala will be 14 and the number of employees will increase from 3000 to 3600. The company has ensured insurance coverage up to 6 months for the people who are to be relocated. For the people who found it difficult to leave Kerala and their families, assistance from the best recruitment companies will be availed to get jobs in other companies. The company also informed that if they are not able to find another job within a year, they will be re-hired in Byju’s. The human resource team of the company is in constant contact with each one and is doing everything necessary to solve their problems, the company said. The company also requested that this shall not be construed as an unfair dismissal.
